As socially constructed identities, boys and men learn “appropriate” gender roles in accordance to the masculine expectations of their given society.  From very early on boys are assimilated to society’s expectation of what it means to be a man.

I wanted to encapsulate all of the exciting new feelings that come with getting into a brand-new relationship, aka “the honeymoon phase.” The best way I could describe the honeymoon phase is pure bliss.

This emotive black and white portrait series is about inner emotion and mental health. When a person is not in the right mental space, they tend to put on “a mask” or something that can distract a viewer from their true feelings.
